As the VP of Business Development…
The VP of Business Development is an exciting new role focused on leveraging Thoughtium’s world class capabilities and offerings to build and sustainably grow a unique book of business as well as a sales function at Thoughtium. This individual must have a passion for experiential learning space as well as a desire to take on an entrepreneurial role. This role will play an integral role in growing top-line revenue opportunity and contributing to the scalability of the firm.
The VP of Business Development will be responsible for building a long-term business development strategy, as well as identifying, pursuing and winning new business contracts within existing and new client organizations. Additionally, the VP of Business Development is an integral member of the Thoughtium Leadership Team, with top line revenue responsibilities, as well as responsibilities tied to expansion of the Thoughtium brand name and voice in the industry.

You Will:
Build and manage a $500K+ book of business within the first 12 months of employment
Design and implement a firm-wide business development strategy that enables sustainable, long-term growth of the firm
Identify and implement new sales and business development strategies and tactics that enable Thoughtium core offerings
Establish business development processes including defining Thoughtium’s sales process, triaging new opportunities and engagements, and establishing CRM tools
Identify and develop unique, mutually beneficial strategic partnerships
Develop new business through existing relationships, referrals, networking, organizationally generated leads and prospecting and grow long-term relationships within new and existing client organizations
Enable and upskill the broader Thoughtium team in core business development practices that expand accounts and capabilities
Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and enhancing what could be improved
Leverage Thoughtium’s solutions to positively impact clients’ learning and strategic needs
Keep a pulse on market insights and feedback to inform our perspective on the direction of new and evolution of existing capabilities and offerings
You Have:
Minimum 10 years or related experience with demonstrated expertise with client services business development
Ability to consult a wide range of client organizations from large-scale corporations to start-ups
Entrepreneurial instincts, a passion for community building, and energy for thinking outside of the box
Experience in managing and growing a personal book of business
Proficiency in building project plans, scoping large projects, developing client service contracts
Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced startup environment
Willingness to travel (local and out of state)
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and produce high impact results
